Map of Victorian High Country Huts

Using the map: Drag the map with your mouse (or one finger on a phone or tablet) to move around. To zoom in and out, use the + and − buttons in the top-left corner, double-click (or double-tap) on the map, or pinch with two fingers on a touch screen. Your mouse scroll wheel scrolls the page rather than the map, so it won’t zoom by accident while you’re reading. Hut names appear as labels once you zoom in. When zoomed out, hover over a point to see its name. Click or tap any point to see more details about that hut. Use the layers button in the top-right corner to show or hide huts by area.

Disclaimer:

The hut locations and information shown on this map have been compiled by Huts Victoria volunteers from a range of sources for general information and historical interest. While we make reasonable efforts to keep the information accurate, we do not guarantee that any location, description, map reference or other detail is accurate, complete or current.

Not for navigation. Plotted positions may be approximate or incorrect, in some cases by several kilometres. This map must not be used as a navigation tool or relied upon to locate a hut in the field. Always carry appropriate topographic maps, a compass and/or GPS, and know how to use them.

Huts may not be available as shelter. Huts may be damaged, destroyed by bushfire, closed, removed, occupied or otherwise unusable. Never plan a trip, particularly in alpine or remote areas, on the assumption that a hut will provide shelter. Carry a tent and equipment suitable for the conditions.

Access and conditions. Roads and tracks shown or mentioned may be seasonally closed, four-wheel-drive only, impassable or subject to restrictions. Some sites may be on or accessed through private land, so obtain permission where required. Check current closures, fire danger ratings and weather warnings with Parks Victoria, DEECA, VicEmergency and the Bureau of Meteorology before you travel.

Your responsibility. Use of this map and information is at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, Victorian High Country Huts Association Inc., its committee members and volunteers accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury or death arising from use of, or reliance on, this information.
